Holiday Open House | Special Event at Bondolio | December 8, 2024 (Rain or Shine)
December 8, 2024, 10 am – 4 pm
Rain or Shine the event will be on!
Farm event! It’s the holiday season and we’re celebrating with fresh olive oil from the November Harvest. We’d love to see you at Bondolio’s Holiday Open House on Sunday, December 8, from 10 am to 4 pm. Join us for a taste of our organic Sicilian Estate Blend olive oil and enjoy made-to-order pizza from the Bondolio wood-fired oven. Special guests will be here to share their delicious talents.
Everyone is welcome, admission is free, and no reservations are necessary. Most activities will be outside on the patio, where there is ample room for safe distancing. Karen is guiding free tastings inside the Tasting Room and you’ll be able to do some culinary shopping in the Mill while you’re here.
Bondolio’s holiday shop offers culinary gifts and delightful confections from Italy, Spain, and France. For your own gourmet pantry and the epicures on your list, you’ll find artisan pantry staples, imported delicacies, cookbooks, and gifts for the kitchen.
We even have a selection of beautifully packaged panettone from Rustichella d’Abruzzo. These traditional Christmas cakes are made from family recipes and elegantly wrapped by hand.
Al Fresco Dining
Pizza, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. Malcolm will make your pizza to order and fire it in our Italian oven. Drizzle on the new oil and enjoy your meal in an olive grove setting reminiscent of a Sicilian frantoio (olive mill). Proceeds from the al fresco dining benefit Angel Flight West, which provide medical and compassion flights at no cost to passengers.
Chutney Tasting
Once again, the delightful Alison McQuade, artisan chutney maker and the nibbles curator of A Smashing Picnic, is bringing a selection of McQuade’s Celtic Chutney. Inspired by her Granny McQuade’s handwritten recipes, Chef Alison makes her chutneys in small batches using traditional methods.
Taste the chutneys and purchase a jar or two for your holiday cheese and charcuterie boards.
Maple Syrup Tasting
Another guest favorite, Runamok will be sharing their popular organic maple syrups. Family-owned Runamok manages over 1,000 acres of sustainable forest in Vermont. They’re an active member of a sweet agricultural community that includes more than 50 other family farms and sugarbushes. Runamok maple syrup is certified organic and kosher, and produced in a Bird-Friendly Habitat.
Sample these wonderful organic syrups and take home a few bottles. They’re perfect for gift giving, seasonal cocktails, and cozy winter breakfasts.
Beverage Tasting
New to our open house this year, L’Apéro les Trois will offer samples of their hand-crafted, low-alcohol apéritifs. Made in the spirit of French farmhouse tradition, these aromatic drinks are created in small batches from Berryessa Gap wines and infused with peak-of-season fruit picked from the trees of historic Winters orchards.
Honey Tasting
Back by popular demand, honey tasting from Woodland’s The Hive. Z Specialty Food is family owned and operated gourmet food business located in Woodland, CA. Founded in 1979, Z Specialty Food is a pioneer for varietal honey and home to Island of the Moon Apiaries and Moon Shine Trading Co., all based at The HIVE, the first varietal honey and mead tasting room of its kind.
