2019 winner of Best of Show at the California State Fair Extra Virgin Olive Oil competition

Once more Bondolio wins top honors at the California State Fair

Almost impossible to do but Bondolio pulled off another sweep of gold medals to win best of show. As in 2017, our oil had to undergo 4 separate competitions all leading up to the final panel of sensory judges tasting our liquid gold olive oil.

To achieve this honor Bondolio first had to win gold as Best of Artisan EVOO (producers of less than 5,000 gallons EVOO per year). Next, as the gold medal winner in the Artisan competition Bondolio advanced to the next level competition of Best in Class where we were awarded the gold medal win as olive cultivars other than the conventional California varietals. Bondolio then advanced to the next level of judging, the medium body EVOO Division where Bondolio took gold. This 3rd gold medal win advanced Bondolio into the ultimate judging, the Best of Show judging. Ultimately Bondolio won gold as Best of Show in the California Extra Virgin Olive Oil competition. Only one Best of Show is awarded in each year’s competition.

Malcolm and I were astonished of the this honor and we are truly humbled by the results at this year’s competition.
